Ironically, I can thank the crappy economy for my certs. Normally, I get budget $$ to go to vendor "user groups" and what not. Since the economy tanked, our biggest vendor cancelled this years conference, so I talked the boss into using the budget allocated for that trip to get my RHCE instead. It was actually cheaper than the conference would have been!
Congratulations on the achievement. I have heard its not the easiest test to pass. I understand there is a new format for the test (shorter time frame). How did you like the testing process?

I loved the testing method. You had 3.5 hours from start to finish. You're actually working on a live machine, and have access to manpages and docs in /usr/share/doc if you needed it (no Google though) -- just like you would in a real world scenario. I had enough time to go through everything once, then go back and verify everything once - I actually found some errors. I got done correcting some mistakes right as the instructor stopped us. I'm actually going to write up a post on the SCSA vs RHCE once I get some time. Long story short, the SCSA is both deeper and wider than the RHCE, but tests you more on your memorization and test-taking skills. The RHCE tests you on things you need to know in order to do your daily tasks.
i knew my company wouldn't pay for the redhat classes, so i just did a self-study using michael jang's book and the redhat deployment guide. the result is my rhce "cheat sheet". now im just crossing my fingers and hoping that i've studied everything i need to know, and that they won't throw too many curve balls at me during the test...

Yeah - shows what you can do when you're in a hotel room all week with nothing to do but study ;-) Thanks for the congrats, Matt.
I never have $$ for Certs.
Congrats!
I never have enough $$ to Cert myself, and none of the businesses I've worked for in the past 12 years want to pay for it.

I can't say much about your cheat sheet, but I can say that your cheat sheet looks really comprehensive. Good luck!
